QUANTICO: Makers of the Priyanka Chopra TV series issue an apology
We reported a few days ago how Priyanka Chopra came under the scrutiny of a lot of Indians who slammed her for one of the episodes of her TV show, Quantico, called The Blood of Romeo. The episode portrayed some Indian Nationalists as masterminds of a terror attack in Manhattan, who later decide to shift the blame on our neighboring country, Pakistan. As soon as the episode was aired, people on social media lost it.
And now, ABC Studios, the makers of the show, have issued an apology owing to the growing criticism and anger of the Indians. Have a look:-
“ABC Studios and the executive producers of ‘Quantico’ would like to extend an apology to our audience who were offended by the most recent episode, ‘The Blood of Romeo.’ The episode has stirred a lot of emotion, much of which is unfairly aimed at Priyanka Chopra, who didn’t create the show, nor does she write or direct it. She has no involvement in the casting of the show or the storylines depicted in the series. Quantico is a work of fiction. The show has featured antagonists of many different ethnicities and backgrounds, but in this case we inadvertently and regrettably stepped into a complex political issue. It was certainly not our intention to offend anyone.”
Well, they do make sense as to why target an actor and not the people who have come up with such controversial and provocative ideas and concepts!
