PULWAMA ATTACKS: Salman Khan removes Atif Aslam’s song from Bharat after fans threaten to boycott the film!
The recent horrific Pulwama Attacks in Kashmir that martyred 44 CRPF soldiers has left the entire nation in a state of anger, panic and shock. Amidst all the tension in the nation, the Hindi film celebrities are taking strict action along with the Government and contributing to the families as much as they can. Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar have already made their necessary donations to the members of the soldiers’ families and recently, Amitabh Bachchan also donated over 2.5 crores and shared the news on social media.
Coming to films, the fraternity has collectively taken the decision of not working with the artists from across the border from now. And one of the first few people to have taken the step is Salman Khan. We all know his admiration towards the Pakistani singer, Atif Aslam, who has repeatedly worked with the actor in films like Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Tubelight and Race 3. However, in his upcoming period drama, Bharat, he has decided to remove his song from the film. When fans came to know about the news of his voice being used in one of the tracks of the album, they threatened to boycott Bharat on social media. Seeing such strong reaction, Khan removed his voice from the Ali Abbas Zafar directorial.
A source close to the film said, “Salman knows this time he can’t ignore the demand to ban the Pakistani singers. He had earlier gotten away with it. He seems to think the voices of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Atif Aslam suit him. And that may be true. But there are far bigger truths to tackle right now. To cling stubbornly to the unwanted elements for purely selfish reasons would damage Salman’s reputation severely. That is a risk he is not willing to take.”
The entire industry, from now onward, has vowed never to engage with the Pakistani artists on any professional or personal forefront. This seems to be the right decision!
