Neerja Bhanot’s family to sue filmmakers

The makers of Neerja have received a lot of praises and accolades, the latest one being their National Award win at the 64th National Film Awards. Sadly, the makers will now be receiving a court notice from the family members of Neerja Bhanot, the brave heart who lost her life while saving passengers of a hijacked aeroplane.

The reason why the makers might be asked to appear in a court is because they have reportedly dishonoured the contract which was signed between the makers and the family.

As per the contract, a total of ten percent of the box office collections was supposed to go to Neerja Bhanot Trust and the family, which is something that the producers have apparently not done, even though the movie collected a total of 125 crores at the worldwide box office.

“I will not comment on this issue at this stage. All I can tell you is that we will not tolerate injustice,” Says Aneesh Bhanot, the brother of the braveheart.
