Priyanka Chopra to bring young Tagore’s love life to 70mm?

Although Priyanka Chopra has been taking Hollywood by storm with her stunning performance in Quantico and her upcoming American cinema debut Baywatch, it’s not like she has not been not focusing on her production ventures back home. We now know what PeeCee has next on her cards, which is a lesser known love story of the 17-year old Rabindranath Tagore. Here’s how the story goes:

Here’s how the story goes: It’s a story of a 17-year-old Tagore who was staying with Dr. Atmaram Pandurang Turkhud at his Mumbai residence when he found an English tuition teacher and a potential life companion in the doctor’s 20-year old daughter Annapurna who had just returned from England. Annapurna, a conversant with the etiquettes of the English and their spoken language, turned tutor to the young lad. As time passed, the intimacy grew between the two. Annapurna was named Nalini by Tagore upon her insistence, who went ahead and immortalized her with a poem and added music to it. But their love did not blossom further as Tagore’s father did not approve of his lady love, who married a Scotsman Harry Littledale and fled to England in 1880.

The casting is in progress and the film is to go on floors by October. It’s going to be a Bengali-Marathi bilingual film.
