PAPA KEHTE HAIN! Alia’s father, Mahesh Bhatt, speaks on Ranbir Kapoor

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are in love, but too coy to express the same openly and make their love public. Having gone through the ups and downs of relationships before, both are aware of the fact that the media has the tendency to blow things out of proportion. But fathers and mothers are always vocal about their children’s love affairs, at least in the Tinsel Town. Neetu Kapoor has always been candid about Ranbir’s past relationships that went kaput. And now, daddy dearest Mahesh Bhatt, possibly the only personality that has a take on almost everything under the sun, has spilled the beans on Alia’s alleged love affair with the Sanju star.

In one of his interviews, the ace filmmaker said, “When I saw those pics, I was like, ‘Oh, the paparazzi age is here and you have people from the outside using their premise to capture the image, because that’s what the nation is thrusting for.’ So, not saying more, I’d let the paparazzi guess if papa is raazi. He adds, “It’s very obvious that [Ranbir-Alia] are making no bones about talking to people about them being intimate. And I don’t belong to that category of parents who’d advise their children about their personal choices. Alia is an adult and it’s a matter that she has to resolve. It’s their life, their space. I respect and admire them for choosing to talk to the world when, and if, they want to do.”

So it seems there’s a stamp of approval from the father’s side. And the mother of the son seems to be happy too! So what’s stopping these two?
