Pakistani stars in India to shoot for Sridevi’s next?

The Indian motion picture producers’ association (IMPPA) banned Pakistani actors and technicians from new projects in Bollywood until situations between the two countries improved. Pakistan’s film industry has welcomed the Indian government’s move to issue visas to Pakistani actors, Adnan Siddiqui and Sajal Ali on Saturday.

The two actors will shoot for Sridevi-starrer, Mom. Siddiqui is likely to play Sridevi’s husband, while Sajal Ali will play her daughter. Exhibitors are also hopeful that the move would pave a path for Pakistani cinema owners to lift the self-imposed ban on Indian movies.

Ever since Indo-Pakistan relations deteriorated following cross-border firing, Pakistani artists have been forced to leave India. In revenge, the Pakistan cinema exhibitors stopped showing Indian movies in solidarity with the actors.

It is being said that they will return next month if everything goes fine and the film will see a May release.
