Padmavati Row: Union Minister Uma Bharti goes against Karni Sena

As Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati is nearing its release date the protest against it has also mounted up. Today the Karni Sena chief Lokendra Singh Kalvi even made a remark on actress Deepika Padukone and said that if need be, action will be taken against the actress.

Mahipal Singh Makrana said, “Rajput Karni Sena is fighting to protect the image of women being portrayed in the films. We never raise a hand on women but if need be, we will do to Deepika what Lakshman did to Shurpanakha for violating the rules and culture of India.

Finally, Union Minister Uma Bharti has come out in support and said Padmavati should not be attached with the Rajput community as it represents the pride of Indian woman. The union minister in a  series of tweets raised her vice on the same.

She even added that prior to the release of the film, filmmakers, historians, and the censor board together should form a committee and then come up with a decision.

Padmavati is slated to release on December 1.
