Padmavati row: Salman Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, and others come out in support of the film
Padmavati has become one of the most controversial films in the history of Indian cinema. From the attack on the sets to protest against the release of the film by the communal groups the film has garnered a lot of controversies.
Now the film fraternity has come out in support of Padmavati. The Indian Film and TV Directors Association (IFTDA) had even held a press conference to extend support to the movie and director Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
Heres what the stars have said in regards to the whole Padmavati Row:
Salman Khan
“I believe that the censor board should take the decision. Sanjay makes very beautiful and nice films. His heroines are very beautiful and good-looking.”
Jacqueline Fernandez
“I just think that film is a form of art and everyone has the freedom of speech. Everyone has the freedom to make what they want to make, if people do not like or have an issue with, then they don’t need to watch it. I just feel that violence is a complete no. It’s a very wrong thing to do. There are better ways to solve issues.”
Karan Johar
Karan Johar wo was also caught in a controversy before the release of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil said “I have faced a lot of controversies before the release of a film. I feel bad for a filmmaker, who is one of the best in the country. Sanjay Leela Bhansali has made a beautiful film and I hope he is protected by the people who understand that creativity is a form of expression. He has himself said that he has made a film which is true to the story and there is nothing in it that might hurt the sentiments and sensibilities of people. I think we should trust and believe him and give this film all the love,”
Arjun Kapoor
Yet again a man has to justify creativity because politics & propaganda creates an ugly environment. He’s a fantastic filmmaker his vision must be trusted. I’m sure Rani Padmavati & her story will be depicted with respect by him & @RanveerOfficial @deepikapadukone @shahidkapoor https://t.co/o8qCu7Rfe6

Arshad Warsi
“I think in our country, people have a lot of free time and that is the problem. People might have their own perspective and reasons (to protest, but somewhere they should think that ‘Padmavati’ is not a reality. It’s a myth and fictionalized story of a writer, so it has no truth to it. I feel people should look at the film only as an art form then it will be better,”
Starring Deepika Padukone as Rani Padmavati, Shahid Kapoor as Maha Rawal Ratan Singh, and Ranveer Singh as Sultan Alauddin Khilji, the historical drama is set to hit the screens on 1st December.
