Padmavati lands in TROUBLE one more time!
With the release of its trailer, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus Padmavati finally has a name and face. The film, which has been in the midst of controversies for almost a year now, is somewhat being appreciated given that in the trailer, the Rajputs have been shown in high regard, and, according to a few, the history doesn’t seem to be distorted.
But, a film can always differ from its trailer and how!
While the trailer is being applauded by all, some Rajput organizations are keen on having a pre-screening for the heads of all relevant religious groups, or else the theatres screening the film will be burnt down.
As per a report, Bhanwar Singh Reta, founder, Jai Rajputana Sangh said, “We won’t tolerate any distortion of history and if any romantic relationship is shown between queen Padmavati and Alauddin Khilji, we will burn cinema halls screening the film,”
To this, Reta added, “Our demand is that the filmmakers screen it to a panel of representatives from various Rajput organizations. We will only give them the go-ahead to release the film after we are satisfied that no scene insults queen Padmavati,”
