PadMan Akshay Kumar: sanitary pads should be free for women
Akshay Kumar is all set to entertain us yet again with a movie which has a message for the society. Akshay will be seen in the upcoming movie PadMan. The movie also stars Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte.
The film, directed by R Balki, chronicles the inspiring story of Arunachalam Muruganantham, who created affordable sanitary pads.
In a recent interview, Akshay was asked about the government’s decision to levy GST on sanitary pads? To this, our Khiladi replied they should be made free. “People ask me what do you feel about GST (on sanitary pads). I say, why should there be a GST? It should be free! There are countries which give it for free, there’s no GST on it. It’s an essential thing to make the women strong. I feel it should be free for women.”
This is why we love Akshay Kumar so much he has always come out in support of women across India and with his movies makes a difference.
PadMan is all set to release on 25th January 2018 in theatres. We surely won’t miss it and we think it is a movie which should not be ignored.
