Padmaavat: When Ranveer Singh became ASHAMED of himself!
It is not uncommon for a Bollywood debutant to have a tinge of arrogance and self-centered behavior in their initial years, especially if one had a debut which was as smashing as that of Ranveer Singh.
Why are we bringing this up? Well, for those who have been following Singh’s activities closely, would remember that he made a certain remark on Koffee With Karan, in which he said, “I could have done Kaminey better than Shahid Kapoor”
Now, fast forward to today, where we think that Kapoor took that particular statement to the heart as during one of his recent interviews that followed the release of Padmaavat, he said, “Of course. Which actor would not wish to play a character like Khilji in a Sanjay Leela Bhansali film? You know, once on ‘Koffee with Karan’, Ranveer said he would have done my role in ‘Kaminey’ better than me… I would have done Khilji differently.”
Well, ouch!
Now, speaking about the same, when Ranveer was quizzed about this particular statement from his now co-star, he said, “What’s wrong in saying that, it’s stating the obvious. Every actor brings something unique to the table, so every actor will approach a part in his or her own way.”
But now, we are guessing that Singh has moved over that phase and now that he thinks about it, he is filled with regret.
Speaking about that very day, he said, “I think in my first year I was very arrogant. In retrospect, that is not something I should have said. I regret saying that (I could have done Kaminey better than Shahid Kapoor)”
Well, we all go through that, right?
