Padmaavat: Shahid Kapoor did the film because of THIS PERSON!

Now that Padmaavat has made it to the theatres, audiences and critics alike have been raving about Shahid Kapoor’s restrained performance as Maharawal Ratan Singh as much as they were awestruck by its other two leads, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone.

But, did you know that Shahid had initially TURNED DOWN to play the regal king?

Yes, you read that right! In a recent interview, Shahid came out candid about the dilemma he was facing while singing the dotted line. He says that everyone he knew advised him to not take up the film as he would be somewhat of a third spoke. But, then came in Sasha’s wifey, Mira Rajput Kapoor, who convinced her man to take up the part, and, as we all know, rest is history.

Clearly, one can do ANYTHING for love and in this case, him abiding by his wife clearly is paying off.
