Padmaavat Row: Security tightened outside theaters across the nation

After a lot of controversies, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat has finally hit the screens today. As the film has been through a lot of controversies and death threats by the Rajput Karni Sena the security outside movie theaters have increased a lot.

The police yesterday have already arrested 100 supporters of the Karni Sena to custody as they had gathered to protest against the film.

Apart from security outside the theaters, some police officials will even be providing security inside the theaters.

The makers of the film have even the Mumbai Police requesting measures to ensure smooth release of the movie.

Security has even been tightened outside the residence of Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

Earlier the supreme court had even lifted the ban on the film from Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh.

Padmaavat is based on 16th-century Sufi poet Mohammad Jayasi’s poem Padmavat.

Starring Deepika Padukone as Rani Padmavati, Shahid Kapoor as Maharawal Ratan Singh & Ranveer Singh as Alauddin Khilji, the film will also be released in Tamil and Telugu, in addition to Hindi.
