OMG SRK’s ‘Raees’ to be banned in Gujarat!
As we all know, on one end ‘Raees’ is on its way to set a benchmark in Indian cinema and on the other end, the movie is having trouble to achieve that, why, you ask? Be it before release or after, the film is constantly caught up in some controversy.
The latest controversy with this SRK starrer is about the petition filed against the movie by the politicians of Gujarat Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Shiv Sena Group. It seems on Wednesday they claimed that the movie is “venerating a real-life criminal story”
Apart from this, Rashtra Sena has also put up banners against the superstar SRK and the movie in different parts of Surat, which is currently hitting screens. A VHP Leader Ranchodd Bharwad said, “India had so many great personalities on whom you can make a movie. But Khan Chose Abdul Latif, who was a dreaded criminal, bootlegger, and a mafia don. Khan claimed the movie is based on fictional character but everyone knows that Raees is based on Latif”
It was also seen that choosing Mahira Khan (Pakistani female lead) was a wrong decision as she had made some anti-India statements after going back to Pakistan and regarding this he said, “We believe that government should ban the movie and charge Khan for sedition in making such a movie.” Further, SRK was also held responsible for the death of his avid follower at Vadodara railway station during its promotion and for this Mr. Bharwad commented, “Government should ban this movie, as it indulges in hero-worshipping of mafia dons.”
Few VHP and Dal workers also screeched out slogans outside the theatre in Valsad this morning. Shiv Sena leader Ashok Sharma had also claimed that these movies would encourage bootleggers and anti-social acts, “Instead of highlighting police officers who tamed Latif, the makers have projected Dawood Ibrahim’s aide Latif as a hero of the masses.”
Phew, too much to handle but nothing can pull down the Badshah from his success in Indian Cinema!
