OMG: Deepika Padukone says no to Coca Cola!

Some of the biggest celebrities have been endorsing aerated drinks for a very long time. Be it Shah Rukh Khan and Ranbir Kapoor being the ambassadors of Pepsi, Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar for Thumbs Up, and who can forget the only time when Aamir Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan shared screen space for a Coca Cola commercial?

Speaking of Coca Cola, the recent actor who was associated with the brand for the last four years was Deepika Padukone. Now, the Padmaavat star has refused to endorse the drink as she has reservations endorsing a drink that could be hazardous for health. Given she herself hails from a sports family and has always spoken about health and fitness, her decision should be lauded.

The people associated with Coca Cola now may have to hunt for a new face to advertise their drink. On the work-front, Deepika will be seen in Vishal Bharadwaj’s Rani, opposite Irrfan Khan. The film was scheduled to release in October this year but due to Irrfan’s treatment and Deepika’s neck injury, was postponed. The makers are yet to confirm when do they plan to take the project off.
