OMG! Amitabh Bachchan shoots for Thugs of Hindostan with a fractured rib
There are superstars, movie stars and then there is a living legend, Amitabh Bachchan, who wrapped a tough schedule of Thugs of Hindostan in Malta recently, shows what it takes to define professionalism and enthusiasm for cinema during this shoot.
Bachchan saab had wrapped up his portions and was all set to fly out after an extra day’s work when a shooting pain in his lower back kept growing exponentially. This was because during filming for the action scenes in Malta, Sr. Bachchan incurred a minor injury. He cracked his upper left rib but continued to work despite intense pain. Considering that the film’s shoot was working on a tight schedule, he continued to shoot and dealt with this pain. Which is why, on the last day, writer and director of Thugs of Hindostan, Vijay Krishna Acharya was keen on avoiding shooting, taking into consideration the pain Mr. Bachchan was facing. But instead, Mr. Bachchan, like the true professional that he is, chose to complete the shoot.
It was only on his way back to Mumbai that an MRI was done on doctor’s orders and the source of this terrible pain was found. Despite a cracked rib, Amitabh ji continued to focus on the shoot and pushed himself. Not many in the world of cinema can match up to his professionalism, this is sure to leave a lasting impression on his crew forever.
