OH NO! Swara Bhasker lands herself in trouble again!

Swara Bhasker, it seems, is soon turning out to be controversy’s favourite child. If her open letter on Padmaavat wasn’t enough, the Veere Di Wedding actor has landed herself in trouble again! And this time, she hasn’t criticized or slammed any feature film, but spoken against a whole country, yes, you read that right!

As we reported earlier, Veere Di Wedding was recently banned in Pakistan, owing to obscene content and vulgar dialogues. When asked about the same in a recent interview, this is what the actor had to say, “For some reason, I have to keep answering for that. I don’t know why people think I’m a spokesperson for the Pakistani government. What do you expect from a state that’s run by Sharia Laws?” She also stated, “They’re a non-secular state. I’m not surprised at all. Why should we hold up Pakistan, which is a failing state — I don’t understand why we keep taking pleasure and feeling a sense of self-worth from all the silly things that happen in Pakistan. Apologies to all my Pakistani friends right now… Rest assured, Pakistanis have way worse vocabulary than we do. I know.”

Little did she expect that these statements would invite backlash on social media, well, they just did! Pakistani actor Urwa Hocane took to her Twitter timeline and slammed the actor in a series of tweets, have a look right here:-
