Oh No! Rita Bhaduri passes away at 62!

In the past year or so, we have seen many legendary figures from the Indian entertainment industry leave for their heavenly tour unexpectedly. While the Indian film fraternity lost its most treasured gems like Om Puri, Shashi Kapoor, Neeraj Vora, Reema Lagu and the likes, the television fraternity lost one of its most loved figures such as Amita Udgata, Karan Paranjape and our very own Doctor Haathi aka Kavi Kumar Azaad. And now, a yet another television personality left us unexpectedly.

As it turns out, Rita Bhaduri, one of the most eminent television actresses of all time, breathed her last this morning at the age of 62 after reportedly not keeping well for over 10 days.

In order to break this utterly sad piece of news to the fans of the veteran actor, Raazi star took to twitter timeline to share a post which reads, “We deeply regret to inform you that Reeta Bhaduri has departed for her journey beyond. The funeral rites will be held on 17th July, Tuesday at 12 noon at the Cremation Ground, Parsi Wada Road, Parshiwada, Chakala, Andheri East. Extremely sad.. lost a wonderful human being .. a mother to many of us.. will miss u Ma…” Later he told indianexpress.com, “She had been ailing for a while now and was hospitalised 10 days before her demise.”

Rita had acted in over 70 movies and was last seen as Imarti Devi in Star Bharat’s TV show Nimki Mukhiya.

May her soul rest in peace and may the family be showered will all the strength that they need in such harrowing times.
