The Varun Dhawan-Banita Sandhu starrer October, directed by Shoojit Sircar, has been in the news ever since its announcement. Firstly, it was being directed by the man who gave us immensely entertaining films like Vicky Donor and Piku, and secondly, it starred the current heartthrob of the generation, Varun Dhawan. Fun Fact- Both Varun and Shoojit are yet to deliver a commercially unsuccessful film in their respective careers. This combination could not get any more lethal.
And ever since the trailer of October has dropped on social media, fans and all the other viewers have been perplexed and fascinated in equal measure. Perplexed because everyone’s trying to decipher the plot of the film, and fascinated because Shoojit Sircar has made something completely out-of-the-box again.

Releasing on the 13th of April, October could be the one film that expands Varun Dhawan’s horizons as an actor. Often criticized for going over-the-top and doing the same deafening comedies, Varun is wonderfully restrained in the trailer and seems to have cracked the nuances of his character tenaciously. The actor is super-busy these days and is on a signing spree.
After October, Varun will be seen in YRF’s Sui Dhaaga with Anushka Sharma, releasing on the 28th of September this year, Abhishek Varman’s Shiddat, reportedly releasing on the 19th of April, 2019, Remo D’ Souza’s untitled dance film with Katrina Kaif, releasing on the 8th of November, 2019 and Shashank Khaitan’s historical drama, Ranbhoomi, releasing on Diwali 2020.
