Not Sara Ali Khan, Alia Bhatt was the first choice for Varun Dhawan’s Coolie No.1 remake!

Yes, you heard that right! The frequent co-stars Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan were all set to star in David Dhawan’s remake of his own 1995 hit, Coolie No. 1, and as per the insiders, the entire project was re-formatted to suit Varun and Alia, as the millennial Govinda and Karisma Kapoor. But unfortunately, due to her other work commitments, Alia couldn’t give time to this project.

Well, the much loved jodi is gearing up for Abhishek Varman’s Kalank and as per some news, they might star together for the third film in the ‘Dulhaniya’ series.

Confirming the news, a source was quoted saying, “Karan Johar has produced two films Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya and Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya in Varun-Alia Dulhaniya series and the third is planned. He would want to keep it exclusive to the series.”

Alia, on the other hand is one busy actress as she has as many as seven films lined up in her kitty. The actress will be seen in Ayan Mukherji’s Bramhastra, Mahesh Bhatt’s Sadak 2, Karan Johar’s Takht, SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus RRR and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Inshallah opposite Salman Khan, to name some films!

Meanwhile, Varun Dhawan will be seen in Street Dancer 3D opposite Shraddha Kapoor.
