#MeToo: Sonu Nigam Lends Support To Anu Malik!

When the #MeToo movement started in Bollywood it really spread like wildfire and it showed the dark side of the industry and it shocked everyone. Many directors and actors came out in the open. While some celebs came out and apologized some are still stuck in between and refuse to admit doing wrong.

90’s music maestro Anu Malik was also named in the list of celebs after he was accused by singer Sona Mohapatra. Anu Malik was labeled as a serial offender and used to call her at odd hours, Shweta Pandit then accused Anu Malik of sexually harassing her when she was 15 years old. All this shaming lead to Anu Malik losing his post as the senior judge on the hit singing reality show Indian Idol.

Now it seems like Anu Malik has got support in the form of his former Indian Idol judge and ace singer, Sonu Nigam. At a recent event, Sonu Nigam said this “If you say, ‘Anu Malik met me this morning’, that’s fine. You accused him without any proof; let’s accept that too. Had he wanted to say anything, he could have said a lot. But he did not. If I say that you misbehaved with me, you will ask me for proof. But there’s no proof, right? Despite that, people are respecting the accusers, who are tarnishing Anu Malik’s name. But how can you ban him? How can you snatch his bread and butter? How can you torture his family?”
