Majid Majidi discloses why Deepika was rejected for his next

2016 had massive surprises and most of them traumatised us, one of them being Deepika Padukone’s de-glammed avatar! Deepika’s pictures from the look test for Majid Majidi’s ‘Beyond the clouds’ created a buzz which bought the movie in the limelight.

But soon after this, there were reports of Deepika being rejected by the Iranian film maker and the suspected reason being, ‘She failed to impress him’

However, in a conversation with a leading daily, the Oscar nominee finally spoke about Deepika and the real reason she isn’t working with him.

He said, “When I asked her (Deepika) for a look test, it was not to doubt her professionalism. She is an excellent actress. But how much she befits the role that is in my vision, I wanted to see. Let me tell you though, that the circumstances were such that they weren’t favourable and nothing materialised of it.”
