Mahabharata the movie gets a 1000-crore investor!

India has a plethora of mythological tales which is waiting to be told on the big screen since time immortal, especially the much awaited Mahabharata the movie. And, not only the Indians residing in the country are awaiting the story’s grand silver screen debut, a Dubai-based Indian businessman named BR Shetty had also been waiting for it.

And, when he learned that the epic saga of Mahabharata is being considered to be filmed for the big screen, Shetty jumped at the opportunity and decide to back the film with a whopping amount of 1000 crores! And we thought that the Baahubali franchise will hold the position of the most expensive film for a long time!

An official release from the company owned by Shetty stated The film will be shot primarily in English, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil and Telugu and will be dubbed into major Indian languages and leading foreign languages

From what little is known about the film, it will go on floors somewhere around September 2018 and will be released in early 2020 in two parts. Here, the sequel will be released within 90 days of the first part. On top of that, the cast and the crew will include the best from the global film fraternity. The movie will be shot through the eyes of the noted ad man V A Shrikumar Menon who has the record of holding the maximum number of national awards in the history of Indian cinema.

It will be interesting to see who joins the magnificent team of this magnum opus.
