Love Per Square Foot star Angira Dhar WINS BIG!

Amongst the many memorable characters that have a made a place for themselves in our hearts thanks to the emergence of the Indian web series scene, it is that of Shahana Arora aka Angira Dhar from Bang Baaja Baaraat. Her charisma and her on-point acting game is simply applaud-worthy. So, the piece of news that we just got our hands on did not really come as a surprise to us, since in our opinion, she had this coming.

As it turns out, Miss Dhar will be winning a Global Leadership Excellence award in the category of “Most Promising Upcoming  Actor Of the Year” at the 2nd GLOBAL BUSINESS LEADERSHIP FORUM 2018 on 7th April, 2018 in ITC Grand Central, Mumbai

This goes on to further strengthen our belief in the old saying which says something to the effect of, “For those who dream big and believe in their dream, nothing is impossible”. For Mumbai girl Angira, destiny and sheer talent collaborated to bring her success, in which she discovered her acting potential and vivacious energy visibility in the web series BANG BAAJA BARAAT.

Born and brought up in Mumbai with a degree from the prestigious Xavier’s Institute of Communications, Angira began a career in TV production with Channel V. During this stint, she learnt key technical skills like writing scripts, editing and shooting, making her an all-round TV professional. While at Channel V, she was offered chances to appear on camera for promos and shows, but Angira focused on learning production for she hadn’t chosen acting as a career yet. When she began working with various production houses on a freelance basis, she was made an offer that was just too good to refuse- a TV commercial to be shot in Tanzania casting her as a model. And she took it up.

Ever since, there began a journey into modelling and hosting TV shows that proved to be a lot of fun on the job.

She gained visibility as host of a popular TV show on UTV Bindass, titled ‘Beg Borrow Steal’. Fate brought her a chance meeting with the casting head of Yashraj Films, Shanoo Sharma. An opportunity that was simply too good to miss out on, Angira took up the challenge of acting and simultaneously also hosted a TV show for Fox Traveller called, ‘Soundtrek’.

Soon after, she worked on ‘BANG BAAJA BARAAT’- an entertaining and engaging web series by Y Films that focuses on all the drama and action around a traditional wedding in today’s times. Angira played a spunky, feisty independent young girl convincingly. Gaining a lot of popularity over time, Angira Dhar has been noticed for her work with this web series. A long, exciting journey in showbiz lies ahead of this talented young actor, who is also blessed with an inherent understanding of the techniques of film-making.

Angira Dhar was seen on screen as a lead actor of the first film to be directed by Anand Tiwari under RSVP (Ronnie Screwvala’s Production House) called Love Per Square Foot opposite Vicky Kaushal. This film is also the first Indian Netflix film which has also received rave reviews from the audience and critics alike.

We congratulate miss Angira Dhar for this incredible feat and pray that she conquers more milestones like these ones in the time to come.
