It is the shift from merely an artist to a full-fledged production house which has been made by artists across the globe. Recently, two of B-town’s most prominent female actresses, Priyanka Chopra and Anushka Sharma have turned producers. After all, why should men have all the fun?
Turns out, our beloved Katrina Kaif is going to be a part of the league of producers soon. She intends on launching her sister Isabel Kaif in the Indian film industry. Buzz was around town that Salman Khan was intially going to be the one who would be responsible for her launch. A source close to our Bhaijaan has revealed that there are no plans of doing so anytime soon.
A close source to the affair says “Katrina and Salman discuss films extensively and are like family to each other. She has shown interest in venturing into film production soon while simultaneously balancing her acting gigs and has been reading scripts, discussing films with her close director friends as well. If there’s anyone who’ll launch her sister in a big Bollywood production, it’ll be Katrina herself,”
Isabel is a formally trained actor and dancer. She is a prominent figure in the Canadian film industry. She had done a film in Canada which goes by the name of Dr. Cabbie which also stars The Big Bang Theory star Kunal Nayyar. The movie was co-produced by Salman Khan.
At the time of Dr Cabbie, Katrina wasn’t training her sister for Bollywood. Obviously over the course of time, the circumstances have changed. Isabel stands a great chace in bollywood, given the sources of her Jagga Jasoos star elder sister.
When a leading publication got in touch with Katrina, she said “Nothing really has crystallised yet. I will produce a film one day… soon.”
We sit and hope that Katrina Kaif has something concrete under works.
