Karan Johar talks about his own heartbreak
Karan Johar has been an open book since the time he released his biography ‘An Unsuitable Boy’. The filmmaker has shared many of his life experiences in his book which have been making headlines in the media. Talking about almost everything, except about the love of his life.
Karan has showcased heartbreak on the big screen like no other filmmaker in Bollywood has but now we know that his heart too was broken. At a recently held event at India Today Conclave, he expressed where he gets the dramatic touch from in his films.
He said, “People say Hindi films are theatrical and dramatic, but somewhere its roots are in real life. I have been at a shaadi ka mandap when the love of my life was getting married to somebody else… When it happens to you, you feel like you can’t get over what’s happening to you. A happy marriage in the industry would really jolt me. I’d be like, ‘You’re a dinosaur, get out of here.”
The Ae Dil Hai Mushkil director was asked to pick either love or money to which he said, “True love goes away, lust takes over at times, so I would be rich and single.”
