Karan Johar spent THIS much amount on one set for Kalank!
Kalank may be an upcoming film for us but a dream project for Karan Johar. This is a film his father, the late Yash Johar, wanted to materialize, but things never fell into place. Now the film has taken-off and how! Apparently, Karan Johar wanted to re-create the Old Delhi in Mumbai and planned to establish a massive set in the city, and reports strongly suggest the filmmaker spent a jaw-dropping 15 crore for the same.
A source close to the film quoted, “Karan got Amrita Mahal Nakai to work on the set’s design and structure. They have created an old Delhi mohalla with a Mahal, where filming is currently on. Kalank is set against the backdrop of the Partition. Since it’s based in the 1940s, the set has been designed keeping that particular period in mind.”
The entire area where the set will be re-created and the shoot will take palce will be guarded under heavy security to ensure no picture from the film is leaked on social media, something that has happened multiple times.
Kalank stars Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit, Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sonakshi Sinha in pivotal roles and is all set to release on the 19th of April, 2019.
