Karan Johar didn’t want Alia Bhatt to do Kapoor & Sons?
It was in 2012 when Alia Bhatt made her debut in Bollywood with Student Of The Year. And as we all know, it was none other than Karan Johar who introduced her in the industry. She never missed any chance to thank him for making her a star.
Alia is known to reach out to Karan for her personal and professional doubts and sharing one such instance on doing Kapoor & Sons, the actress was quoted saying to a leading daily, “Karan asked me not to do Kapoor & Sons. I said, ‘No! I want to do it’. He said, ‘You don’t have enough part in it’. Karan will offer you a film and then he’ll also ask you not to do it in a protective way. Later, he said, ‘I’m sorry, I was wrong, you were right in doing it’.”
Well, Karan is not just a mentor but also a father figure to her as she lovingly addresses him as ‘Papa’.
Alia, who has done many films under Karan Johar’s production house, will also be collaborating with him for Kalank, Brahmastra and his next directorial, Takht. She will also be seen in the much-awaited sequel to the 1991-film Sadak, directed by her dad Mahesh Bhatt.
