In an all-out interview with a tabloid, Kangana Ranaut, the one who is known for speaking her heart out, shares a strong opinion after a long time. Its an opinion about none other than the trend which is on the rise in the cinema world of today: Artistes and their Hollywood ventures! Here’s what she has to say:
“It would be stupid for anyone to make the move to the West now. Their theater business is crashing because of the influx of digital media. Asia, on the other hand, is where Hollywood was 15-years-ago. It is a lucrative time for entertainment here. These are baits that I won’t fall prey to.”
Wait, was she hinting at Deepika and Priyanka?
Although the 29-year-old has no beef against the two, she objectively points out that it doesn’t make sense to try one’s luck abroad, especially when the domestic market is flourishing on a massive scale, with audiences becoming open to various kinds of cinema! One conclusion can be drawn out of this statement: She has ZERO aspirations of going to Hollywood!
“If an American film (The Jungle Book, 2016) is doing Rs 100 crore business and not all our films are able to, we may not find adequate screens for home-bred films 10 years down the line. I am all for world cinema but it needs to be a film that brings employment and money to our country. I don’t wish to offer myself on a platter to another country, “
