Jab Shahid Kapoor and Imtiaz Ali’s film got SHELVED!

Although we were already excited about the news of Shahid Kapoor and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s first collaboration from the time that Padmaavat (Then-Padmavati) was announced, nothing beats the excitement level after hearing about Sasha and his Jab We Met director-Imtiaz Ali reuniting for a film after nearly a decade and a half. Needless to say, the film was smelling of a sure-shot entertainer already.

But, it seems like the film has hit a major roadblock, and that too that of the producers, who are reportedly not at all happy with the script, and there seems to be a lack of trust in Imtiaz’s direction capabilities since the time Jab Harry Met Sejal had seen the light of day, we guess.

A source was quoted saying, “The script was a little edgy and even though Shahid loved it, the producers approached were somewhat sceptical about its experimental nature. Shahid and Imtiaz met recently and have decided to keep this film on the backburner for now. Imtiaz and Shahid may return to this project next year or maybe later.”

Well, producers are bound to make decisions of directors based on their body of work, so one can say that Jab Harry Met Sejal could have played a part in how things are right now.

But, if this news about Red Chillies allegedly tampering with the original script of the movie has any truth to it, is Shah Rukh Khan’s production house to be blamed for this Shahid’s film ending up in the backburner?
