Is Shahid Kapoor one of the MOST bankable stars of Bollywood now?

Ever since the release and the eventual stupendous success of the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial, Padmaavat, one of its leading men, Shahid Kapoor is clearly on a roll. It was a heart-warming thing to see that the man who has delivered some spectacular performances in films like Haider, Udta Punjab, Kaminey and Jab We Met can FINALLY boast of a film that is a part of the coveted 300 crore club. And now, if a recent online reports are to be believed, the Batti Gul Meter Chaalu is probably and FINALLY getting his due as if reports are to be believed, he has landed a MASSIVE 3 film deal with Zee Studios and has been paid a REALLY BIG amount for the Shree Narayan Singh directorial, which is said to be somewhere around 12 crores!

A source was quoted online saying that “This deal means that the studio has invested in who it sees as a potential superstar. The amount paid to the actor will increase as he completes each of the three films. From Shahid’s point of view, it’s a win. He charged Rs 12 crore for Batti Gul Meter Chalu and this three-film deal consolidates his position among the lot of rising superstars including Ranbir Kapoor and Varun Dhawan.”

Well, if this report is true and if Sasha is really being paid more than what he reportedly courted for Padmaavat, is he really now an actor who is as commercially viable as Varun Dhawan and the newest blockbuster superstar in town, Ranbir Kapoor?
