Is Kareena Kapoor Khan the reason behind Deepika Padukone’s stardom?
It’s not really an uncommon phenomenon to hear about actors letting go of potentially blockbuster films, which would incidentally catapult to whosoever chooses to do them to superstardom. A very classic example of the same are the films that were done by Shah Rukh Khan, which were initially offered to but eventually denied by Tiger Zinda Hai star Salman Khan and one of the most recent ones being the part of the now iconic Sivagami from the Baahubali film franchise, which was declined to be done by the late legend Sridevi but probably turned the tables around for Ramya Krishna, who later on stepped into the shoes of the character in question.
But, it seems like history has repeated itself yet again and if this piece of news is to be believed, it was Veere Di Wedding star Kareena Kapoor Khan who probably played a part in making Padmaavat star Deepika Padukone the global icon that she is today.
Yes, you read that right! Reportedly, Bebo the first choice to play the female lead in the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Chennai Express and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Goliyon Ki Raasleela: Ram Leela, which, as we all know now, eventually saw Miss Padukone front-lining it. It has been reported that the former had to let go of the two films due to being unable to allocate the dates to the now hugely successful projects.
So, could it be that Deepika Padukone has to thank the Veere Di Wedding star for the pedestal she stands on now? What do you think?
