When the IIFA Hosts chanted “Nepotism Rocks”

The IIFA Awards 2017 was a treat to watch, especially due to its hosts Saif Ali Khan, Karan Johar and he IIFA debutant Varun Dhawan. This year, the hosts almost mercilessly took a dig at the infamous nepotism debate which was started off by the feisty Kangana Ranaut right on the couch of Koffee With Karan, where she tagged Johar the flag-bearer of nepotism.

Fast forward to the weekend where the hosts took an outright jab at Kangana’s comment by constantly chanting two words, which were “Nepotism rocks… Nepotism rocks...”

Then, it was time for Karan Johar to speak up, who said “I’m here because of my father, Saif is here because of his mother, and Varun is here also because of his father. What’s the big deal?”

This started when Dhawan Jr. received the best award for a comic role for his stint in Dishoom, post which he said “Down with nepotism”

The act was concluded by one of his seemingly favorite songs from the KJo movie, which was “Bole Choodiyan, Bole Kangana…” and the, KJo reacted, “Kangana bolti hi Kyun hai?”

Now, that was a pretty up front thing.

This is not the first time when someone has made fun of her. Have we all forgotten about the Guess Who game played by Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif? The reaction that Kat gave us was quite surprising, wasn’t it?
