Here’s the REAL reason why Nawazuddin Siddiqui did MOM

Nawazuddin Siddiqui is one of the most talented actors we have in the Indian film industry today. Almost everyone in Bollywood is either aspiring or looking forward to sharing screen space with him.

But, perhaps Nawazuddin himself dreamed of working with just one actress for the longest time, and that dream surely came true when he got the chance to work opposite Sridevi in their upcoming film, Mom.

Just imagine. You have grown up binge-watching films of that one particular actress for a major portion of your life, and then one fine day you get the opportunity to share screen space with her. Wouldn’t you just seize the moment and grab the opportunity irrespective of the role you’re playing? It’s the same reason which made Nawazuddin join the cast of Mom.

Nawazuddin reveals that Sridevi not only helped him perfect his nuances in Mom, but also for his other project, Manto, where he essays the role of a controversial yet a celebrated writer.

During an event, he expressed his admiration for the veteran diva by saying “She is hardworking, disciplined and always wants her co-stars to give their best. Even the simplest of her suggestions, be it a change of expression of the technique of dialogue delivery, could make a scene better than I had thought. Experience has its own value and that cannot be replaced. While shooting for Manto, I applied what she taught me. It was an exhausting schedule, but thanks to Srideviji, I could handle it patiently,”

Nawazuddin, a die-hard Sridevi fanboy, revealed that he used to binge-watch her movies during his NSD days. “She did commercial films like Chalbaaz and Chandni and at the same time, we’d see her in a Sadma or a Lamhe. Her choice of films inspired me. Watching her face the camera is in itself a great lesson.

Dreams do come true, don’t they? We are convinced that Nawazuddin Siddiqui is ready to out-do himself in Mom and Manto.
