Here’s why Aditya Pancholi has been sentenced to one-year imprisonment
After Sooraj Pancholi was accused of abetting his girlfriend Jiah Khan’s suicide, it’s his father, who has got himself into trouble this time. An Andheri court has convicted Aditya Pancholi and sentenced him to one-year imprisonment for assaulting his neighbour. He has also been imposed with a fine of Rs 20,000.
The case was registered back in 2005, over a parking lot quarrel in Magnum Opus housing society situated in the suburbs of Versova. According to the police, the actor hit his neighbour Pratik Pashni and fractured his nose. Prosecution revealed the reason, saying that Pancholi’s guest parked his car in Pashni’s parking area. Unable to park his own car, Pashni asked the staff to clear his parking area. This led to a heated argument between Pashni and Pancholi and then the actor hit his neighbour. Pancholi has been found guilty by the court under section 325 (causing grievous hurt) of the Indian Penal Code. Magistrate Amitabh Panchbai has released the actor on a bail of Rs 12,000, after convicting him.
Pancholi’s lawyer Mangesh Rangnekar has released a statement saying, “The allegations were that the complainant had fractured his nose. But there was no CCTV footage and the ruling was based only on the statements of six people.” These six people included Pashni, his wife, the doctor who treated Pashni’s nose and the investigating officer.
Aditya Pancholi has a history of assaulting anyone and everyone who pisses him off. The actor also allegedly assaulted his neighbour at his previous residential area and a bouncer at Hotel Sea Princess Trilogy pub a few years back. Seems like the Pancholis have their notorious ways with the law!
