Half Girlfriend teams up with NBA!
The teaser poster of Arjun-Shraddha Kapoor starrer Half Girlfriend is out which announces that the movie is ’13 1/2 weeks away from its release, which is on 19th May of this year. It doesn’t display the characters in the film, but simply a basketball court from one end of the setup.
But what really caught our eye is the bottom left corner of the poster, which reads “13 1/2 weeks to release. NBA, the world’s top basketball league is an official partner of Half Girlfriend, a first for Hindi films. As the lead actors play basketball in college, NBA helped provide coaching and helped shoot the basketball portions for the film”. Now, that is surely a first for an Indian film.
Half Girlfriend is a movie which is based on Chetan Bhagat‘s novel that goes by the same name. The two leads Madhav and Riya(played by Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor respectively) friendship grows over the love for basketball. Given the story-line, it is a no-brainer that the movie has a handful of basketball sequences. (are they trying to recreate the magic of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai?). For the movie, Arjun and Shraddha had got some serious training in the sport from professionals who hail from the United States!
A still of Arjun and Shraddha re-creating DDLJ’s train chase sequence suggests that the love story is being told in the most romantic way yet.

Half Girlfriend is all set to release on May 19th, 2017. Excited?
