Farhan Akhtar talks about his relation with Salman

Last week we saw the upcoming box-office clash between Karan Johar’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ and Ajay Devgn’s ‘Shivaay’ take an ugly turn with Ajay sharing a voice note of film critic Kamaal R Khan claiming that Karan Johar had paid him Rs 25 lakhs to badmouth ‘Shivaay’.

This week there is another box-office clash between Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Baar Baar Dekho’ starring Katrina Kaif and Sidharth Malhothra and Sohail Khan production’s ‘Freaky Ali’ starring Nawazzudin Siddiqui. Salman had earlier clarified that Farhan was like a younger brother and there was no competition between their production ventures. But what does Farhan feel about the clash.

Farhan informed a popular daily, “I genuinely feel that there is space for all kinds of movies. There have been times when two films have released [on the same day], and both have done well. Sometimes, two films have released [on the same day], and both have not done well. So, it really is not a question of whether one will do better than the other.”

He was also asked about equation with Salman and his family to which the director-actor said, “We (Salman and Farhan) are not competing with each other. Sohail (Khan), Arbaaz (Khan) and Salman are involved in [promoting] their film. They are like extended family to me. So, I wish that both our films do well, and I really think that’s possible. I don’t think we should have any kind of sinister ideas towards each other. That serves no purpose. Film-making isn’t a race.”
