Farhan Akhtar got replaced by this actor in Akshay Kumar’s gold!
Farhan Akhtar is producing Akshay Kumar’s ‘Gold’ with Excel Entertainment which will be directed by Reema Kagti. Akshay Kumar will be seen playing the role of Balbir Singh, an Indian Hockey player part of the team that won the gold medal at the Olympics in 1948, 1952 and 1956.
Farhan Akhtar was roped in to play the second lead in the film but the ‘Rock On 2’ actor turned down the role. Rumour has it that Farhan is not interested in doing a parallel lead in the film. A source said, “Farhan has played a lead in a biopic once before in ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ and he wouldn’t want to step away from the protagonist’s role in this film. It could also be the fact that he is producing the film under his Excel Entertainment banner.”
The role has now been offered to Saqib Saleem but the actor has not confirmed it yet. Farhan also turned down Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s role in Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Raees’!
