Farah Khan: There is no Shah Rukh Khan in my next film
As we all know. Farah Khan the director-cum-choreographer has never missed a chance to fire up the silver screen with films like Main Hoon Na (2004), Om Shanti Om (2007) and Happy New Year (2014). And now, finally, after two years she is back with her next film.
While a lot of us will be thinking that like all her films in the past, her next without a doubt would feature her best friend SRK. But looks like, that is not the case. Shah Rukh Khan won’t be in the film and we know the real reason behind it.
In a recent interview with an eminent tabloid, Farah Khan spoke about her forthcoming film, also confirming how SRK will not be a part of it.
It seems like the script of her upcoming flick is based on a very serious subject. One which Farah has never attempted before.
While revealing more about her upcoming film and her best friend not being a part of it, she said, “When I meet parents in my children’s school, they say there aren’t good films for kids to watch. I wonder about the lack of such films too. What do my kids watch? One should be able to take the whole family along to watch a film… like Happy New Year… Either I make a movie like that or try something new. There is always a dilemma. So, I am going to attempt something new – the subject of my next film is a story about two girls.”
Adding to the information, she also shed some light about the stature of the film, “Let me tell you, this is a small film with a big idea, but it will also become larger than life. Small in the sense that there is no Shah Rukh Khan in it. But let’s not call it ‘a small film’ otherwise no popular heroine will work in it. I feel the urge to make an indie film or something like the recent Lion. It was lovely. The problem is that I’m not capable of writing such scripts. I am being honest that I need someone to help me and give it to me on a platter.”
Let’s see how well Farah does at the box office with a brand new script and NO SRK in it!
