Emraan Hashmi to play India’s top detective in his next!
Emraan Hashmi is on a film signing spree. He’s already doing Captain Nawab, an untitled horror-thriller with Rishi Kapoor, Netflix’s The Bard Of Blood, Cheat India and has now signed another film based on India’s top detective, Suryakant Bhande Patil, who solved 120 child kidnapping cases for free. It’s titled Father’s Day.
Speaking about the same in an interview, Hashmi said, “Suryakantji’s story is heartbreaking but very inspiring. It’s rare to find a person who has dedicated his whole life to helping find the kidnapped children of others, that too for free. I am proud to be playing him in the film.” The film marks the directorial debut of Shantanu Baagchi. Talking about the film, the soon to be director said, “This film does all three and the wonderful thing is that the inspiring story is based on the life of a real person.”
Once known as the serial-kisser of the Tinsel Town who only starred in Vishesh Films’ erotic thrillers and their sequels, it’s highly commendable how Emraan Hashmi has moved towards the space of brave and realistic stories, stories that deserve to be told!
