Dreams do come true! Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in one movie!
It’s confirmed, dear readers, and we can’t wait to share it you all, Energizer bunny Ranveer Singh and the adorable Alia Bhatt will be working together! We have been wishing for this duo to get together ever since they both began endorsing the popular traveling application MakeMyTrip.
Zoya Akhtar is going to be taking this movie forward, which goes by name of Gully boy. Gully boy, unsurprisingly, will be produced under Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s banner Excel Entertainment. The Buzz around town was that Chote Nawab‘s daughter Sara Ali Khan was supposed to make a debut in the project in question, until now. The scripts also demands a second male lead (Farhan Akhtar, perhaps?).
A source close to the film revealed “The film is inspired by real-life rappers like Divine and Naezy whose work has ranged from speaking about petty crimes in their respective Mumbai neighborhoods of Kurla and Andheri to sharing stories about finding a voice and becoming activists. It is an extremely ambitious project and will roll next year.”
The real life rappers, as said by the source, described Aamchi Mumbai through the medium of their Rhythms and Poetry, starting with Yeh Mera Bombay, followed by Meri Gully Main, which seems to be the inspiration for the title (Or maybe someone in the film addresses the rapper by the name of Gully boy, we will have to watch the movie to find out!). The work which follows the two is titled Jungli Sher, which narrates the rapper’s ‘thug life’.
After Ranveer and Zoya’s first film, Dil Dhadakne Do, the audience has been waiting for the actor-director tag team to recreate the magic ever since.
While the gorgeous Alia Bhatt and fireball Ranveer Singh have been confirmed as the leads, which male lead complete this musical trio? Any guesses?
