Director CONFIRMS Hrithik Roshan’s role in Kabaddi
We were amongst the first ones to break the news that Hrithik Roshan has signed his first sports-based film based on our national sport Kabaddi. The film in question is set to be directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and produced by media tycoon Ronnie Screwvala.
However, things seemed to be going downhill when we heard that Hrithik will NO LONGER be a part of this film. This news, however, came as believable, because for the past one year or go, Hritik has been walking in-and-out of films like NOBODY’s business.
But, director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra gave us a ray of hope that Hritik has in fact NOT said no to the film, which is titled Kabaddi.
While making his point, he said, “Scriptwriting is something I enjoy, but it is also very tedious and slow process. Sometimes it can take you 2 years, ‘Rang De Basanti‘ took me five years to write and get it right. Yes, I am working with Ronnie Screwala and I think we should be ready with the script in a year or so, from today and then we will decide about shooting,”
While talking about Hrithik walking out of the film, he said, “There is nothing like that,”
While taking a jibe at the media, Mehra said, “This is a wonderful thing before I know things, media knows everything. Next time I will ask a journo what I should do.”
Well, thank god for that!
