Did you know Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, Kajol & Rani Mukerji were the first choices for Kalank?

The Kalank teaser, which released recently, showed us a glimpse of all the characters from the film. And now, we are looking forward to the trailer of the much awaited period drama. As we all know, the movie which is a multi-starrer, boasts off an impressive ensemble of Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur in pivotal roles.

Well, you may not know they were not the original cast of the movie. As per some early reports, while Kalank was being conceptualized, the film’s star cast was supposed to be Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, Rani Mukerji and Kajol. And the same was revealed by Karan Johar in the recently released biography ‘An Unsuitable Boy’.

Written by Karan Johar and directed by Abhishek Varman, Kalank is a period drama which is reportedly dealing with human emotions, and happens to be a period love story which tries to find its identity amidst the dangerous political situation during Partition.
