Nitin Kakkar’s Mitron which is set for clash with Manmarziyaan starring Taapsee Pannu who plays the role of a flamboyant Punjabi girl Rumi who believes in womanism and is very outspoken. Whereas, Kritika Kamra, is seen as a very independent girl who wants to fulfill her dreams on her terms.
Kritika Kamra, on the other hand, is shown as a very independent girl who wants to fulfill her dreams on her terms.
When asked Kritika about her character in comparison to Taapsee’s character the actress said, “Feminism is the most misunderstood term. It can mean a lot of things, but what it comes down to is equality and being able to make choices that are right for you. You don’t need to always shout it from the rooftops. For me Avni is a “bold” character. And bold to me doesn’t mean dressing in a certain way. or just behaving in a certain way. She is bold in her career aspirations. She believes that she doesn’t need to depend on anyone for anything and wants the same rights and opportunities as a boy in her family would get. Also, I like that she doesn’t sulk or complain. She’s a go-getter. She makes things happen and without making a big deal about it. To me that is refreshing.”
While both films set in small towns, depicting the life of the people from the regions, both the films are rooted into the small localities.
Mitron has been shot in the unexplored locations of Gujarat. The city of Ahmedabad has been explored intensively for the film. While Manmarziyaan has extensively been shot in Amritsar and other parts of Punjab.
