Deepika Padukone to Kangana Ranaut, B-town hotties this year at Cannes

Festival De Cannes, although an international film festival, recognized the power of Hindi Cinema when Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Devdas was screened there for the jury and the international critics in 2002. After Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan made their stunning debut and mesmerized the entire gathering, it left the door ajar for more Indian films and celebrities.

This year, as Festival De Cannes enters its 71st year, we have six Bollywood actresses representing our industry at the prestigious festival. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Kangana Ranaut, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, Huma Qureshi and Mallika Sherawat are the ones who’ll grace the red carpet with their presence. Kangana’s look was shared by her designer for the festival, Sabyasachi Mukherjee. In case you missed it, check it out:-

Kangana Ranaut @team_kangana_ranaut @festivaldecannes looks resplendent in an ultra-glamorous rendition of our famous ‘‘Aakash-tara’ (i.e. starry skies) saree. The saree is hand-dyed and embellished with hand-cut sequins that are individually sewn using zardosi technique, to create a metallic, yet fluid fabric. Her look is accessorised with a Sabyasachi batua and the ‘teenmaniya’ necklace, crafted out of rose-cut diamonds, Colombian emeralds and basra pearls from the Sabyasachi Heritage Jewelry Collection.
