Deepika Padukone to star in Badlapur 2?

Just about yesterday, we had reported to you all that the script of Badlapur 2 is ready and Dinesh Vijan shall begin working on the film with Sriram Raghavan sometime in the near future.

What was the most interesting thing we heard about this sequel was that this time, Vijan and Raghavan will have a female lead protagonist. The producer claimed that the character is most bizarre one they have written until now.

It could be said that Vijan considers Deepika Padukone as his lucky mascot. Apart from her sizzling number in Raabta, Vijan has delivered 3 films in the past with Deepika, namely Cocktail, Love Aaj Kal and Finding Fanny. Now, the buzz in that Dinesh Vijan wants to cast DP in Badlapur 2!

A source close to the affair was quoted saying  “A sequel to Badlapur, with a female protagonist and a completely new cast, is being planned. Dinesh has bounced the idea off to Deepika and she has loved it. It’s a character-driven role, just like Varun’s was in Badlapur. The script isn’t ready yet and once that’s done, the producer will give the actress a full narration and get her dates blocked for the film.”

 We are awaiting an official announcement from the producer! Our excitement is off the roof!
