Is Deepika Padukone bored of mainstream cinema?

Deepika Padukone is probably the most versatile actress that Bollywood has currently who is making herself known in the global cinema scene thanks to her stellar Hollywood debut opposite none other than Vin Diesel and a spot confirmed in the upcoming xXx sequel. Now, DP has something very interesting in mind which we pray that takes off.

Anaarkali Of Aarah actress Swara Bhaskar delivered an outstanding performance in Nil Baatey Sannata, which has probably left the Padmavati actress in awe of her. Taking inspiration from Swara, DP wants to pull off a more solo-heroine centric film and she thinks that none other than Shah Rukh Khan’s current director Aanand L Rai would be able to pull it off.Well, she does have the right filmmaker in mind, don’t you think so?

If reports are to be believed, she has already approached the Tanu Weds Manu director and we are praying that the meetings come to fruition.

In the past, Rai had approached DP for the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer but she turned it down as she wants to do a more solo-female centric role. (So do we, Deepika, so do we).

Deepika will be seen very soon in Padmavati opposite Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor.
