Deepika and Irfan come together for a gangster film

Vishal Bhardwaj’s next will feature Piku duo Irfan Khan and Deepika Padukone. Buzz is that, the film will revolve around the life of mafia don Rahima Khan also known as Sapna didi which will be portrayed by Deepika while Irfan will be playing the character of a local gangster who is in love with Sapna didi.

The movie will be based on a chapter from S. Hussain Zaidi’s book- Mafia Queens of Mumbai, wherein the story would be about a women’s mission to avenge the death of her husband who was killed by Dawood Ibrahim.

The film will be Honey Trehan’s directorial debut. While talking to a leading daily, Vishal Bhardwaj said, “Honey has been a part of my life since before I made my first film. Launching him as a director after Abhishek Chaubey gives me deep joy. He will make a fine director. Deepika has been asking me to write a script for her for a long time. She has heard this script and loved it. We are in an advance stage of discussion with her,”

The film has been written by Bhardwaj and will be the second time Irfan and Deepika will star together on the silver screen. It is expected to go on floors by the end of this year!
