Chennai Express producer’s bail gets trashed
Karim Morani’s bail gets canceled! The producer has to surrender to the police by 22nd March!
We’d reported earlier how Karim Morani, who was a co-producer of Rohit Shetty’s hit 2013 comedy Chennai Express, was charged by a 25-year-old woman of rape. He was granted an anticipatory bail by the court.
As of now, the anticipatory bail has been canceled and the police of the city of Hayatnagar have asked Morani to surrender.
Mahesh Bhagawat, the police commissioner of Rachankoda told a section of media “The anticipatory bail has been cancelled and Morani should surrender before us by March 22. We are waiting for the order copy to reach us before we decide our future course.”
The accused launched the complaint in the third week of January. She stated that the filmmaker drugged her and abused her after that. She also accused him of exploiting her by threatening to post her nude photos online if she complained to the police.
The victim produced the WhatsApp chat, text messages, and emails between Morani and her as evidence in support of her complaint.
What will be the fate of this case? Only time will tell.
