Brahmastra: Ranbir Kapoor to take INTENSE martial arts training!
Given that hardly anything (and by saying that, we mean nothing!) has surfaced from the sets of the Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt-starrer Brahmastra, our curiosities have been at its peak, because extra security could mean something extra special. That is not to say that we weren’t curious about it already during its announcement, as, admittedly, fantasy films are hardly ever made in India.
Although we had initially imagined Brahmastra (Which was then being called Dragon) to be a sci-fi movie with high-tech weaponry and antagonists, but all it took was the name and a handful of public statements by the makers to give us a sense that the superhero flick (if one may want to call it that) has somewhat of a medieval-era feel to it. So, we knew that we probably had to move over other-worldly ammunition and intergalactic duels and re-imagine it all with a lot of hand-to-hand combats and a plethora of cultural references.
Speaking of which, we now hear that the leading man of this trilogy, Ranbir Kapoor will be shooting some intense action sequences and will be going through rigorous training in two martial art forms.
Yes, you read that right! As per sources, Kapoor Jr. will be training in Kalaripayattu (something that Vidyut Jammwal is reportedly learning and practicing since his childhood days) and Varma Kalai (a fighting form that Kamal Haasan displayed in the 1996 film, Hindustani).
Now, isn’t this exciting or WHAT?!
